This school holiday break at Castle Towers, we're heading Back to Nature with a SERIES OF WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN, and while we're bringing the great outdoors direct to you, we also encourage you to bring a little bit of nature into your home with our handy activity sheets.
The Hills Shire is home to a huge range of native plants and animals, and you can teach aspiring naturalists more about their secret lives and habitats with the help of our five themed activity sheets. Each printable A4 sheet features an illustration of a plant or animal to colour in as well as a description of what makes them special and a short quiz. There’s a banksia, a bird, a butterfly, an amphibian and a marsupial to discover, all of which you can head out into the neighbourhood to spot with our tips on where to find them.
Fun to complete in between the Back to Nature workshops running on Level 2 until 27th April, these handy activity sheets are designed help the youngest members of our community gain a new appreciation for the special environment in which we live and the critters we share it with.
For another activity that you and your little ones can do together, check out our instructions on HOW TO BUILD A TERRARIUM, or register your child for our workshop on how to MAKE A GARDEN WALL HANGING.
